Top Carpooling and Ridesharing Apps in Nigeria: Q4 2024 Performance

In the fourth quarter of 2024, the performance of carpooling and ridesharing apps in Nigeria showcased significant trends across weekly downloads and active users. Data from Sensor Tower provides a comprehensive look into the activity of the top five apps on a unified platform.

inDrive. Save on city rides experienced a fluctuating but generally upward trend in weekly downloads, starting at approximately 37K in early October and peaking at about 54K by the end of December. The app maintained a strong presence with weekly active users, rising from 595K to an impressive peak of 795K before settling at around 600K.

Bolt: Request a Ride also saw a positive trajectory in downloads, beginning at 33K and climbing to over 42K by the Christmas week. Active users started at 2.1M and showed a peak of nearly 2.9M mid-December, before settling at around 2.3M.

Uber - Request a ride maintained steady growth in downloads, increasing from approximately 7.1K to 14.9K during the quarter. The active user base also saw growth, starting at 446K and peaking at 568K in mid-December.

Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver showed a modest increase in downloads, with numbers rising from about 2.6K to a high of 3.6K. Active users remained relatively stable, with a slight increase from 25.3K to 27.8K.

LagosRide demonstrated a consistent rise in downloads, starting at 1.7K and reaching 4.3K by late December. The app’s active user numbers saw a decline early in the quarter but recovered to finish at 21.4K.
